Ranbir College Sangrur

Govt. Ranbir College, Sangrur is one of the prominent and big colleges of Punjab . The College has won special laurels in academics, sports and cultural activities. The institution has produced very great personalities such as scholars, thinkers, teachers, doctors, engineers, good administrators, scientists, writers, brave soldiers, international players, political leaders and great artists are the product of this college.

Gov.t Ranbir College Sangrur was established in 1939 as Inter College with the courtesy of Late Maharaja Ranbir Singh of Jind on the occasion of his golden jubilee. In 1943, the college became Degree College. Maharaja Ranbir Singh was not only an able administrator but also an intellectual person and the lover of education.
In 1963, the local Ranbir College of girls was merged into college & the college become co-edudcational college. In 1962, the Govt. of Punjab established Punjabi University Patiala for the decentralisation of academic powers and the promotion of regional languages and culture. In 1970, the college was taken out from the jurisdiction of Punjab University Chandigarh and included in the jurisdiction of Punjabi University, Patiala.
