Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati

Tirupati Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama was started by taking over the land and buildings and the activities of Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samithi, Vinayaka Nagar, Tirupati.

Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samithi, Tirupati was started in 1981 by a few enthusiastic devotees of Divine Trio, inspired by the Swamijis of Ramakrishna Order. Initial its activities were limited to conduct satsangas in the house of devotees. In 1995 the TT Devasthanams allotted Acre 0.86 cents of land to the Samithi. Later on Samithi constructed at temple of Sri Ramakrishna, which was consecrated by Rev. Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, the then Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission in February 1998. The Samithi conducted daily activities like Mangalarati, daily puja, sandhyarati, Ramnam sankeertan on Ekadeshi days, celebration of the birthdays and other sacred days. Samithi also conducted lecture series on Ramayana, Mahabharata and other topics. The Samithi also conducted the first and the tenth Annual Convention of Andhra Pradesh Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhava Prachara Parishad. Apart from daily activities the Samithi started running a charitable Homeo Dispensary, a library and 6 book stalls.

Tirupati, being internation piligrim centre, the devotees and the board members of the Samithi, decided to hand it over to the Ramakrishna Mission for developing the service activities. After repeated requests, Ramakrishna Mission finally affiliated the Samithi and started a branch center of Ramakrishna Mission on 6th August 2015.
