పుష్కరాలు అంటే ?

ప్రాణికోటి సమస్తం మనుగడకు ఆధారం జలం.జలం పుట్టిన తరవాతే జీవకోటి ఉద్భవించింది.జలాధారాల వెంటనే తొలుత నాగరీకత విస్తరించింది.అలాంటి జలాన్ని దేవత రూపాలనిచ్చి తల్లిగా ఆరాధించడం హిందూ సంప్రదాయం.అలాగే నదీ స్నానాలు, కోనేటి స్నానాలు, సముద్ర స్నానాలు,మాగ స్నానాలు (బలవంత మాగస్నానాలు),మంగళ స్నానాలు అని హిందూ సాంప్రదాయం నీటితో ముడి పడి ఉంది.అలాగే తీర్ధయాత్రలు అని పుణ్యక్షేత్రాల దర్శనం కూడా నీటితో ముడిపడి ఉంది.శ్రాద్ధకర్మలు, పిండ ప్రదానాలు,తర్పణాలు కూడా జలంతో ముడిపడినవే.నదీతీరంలో పితృకర్మలాచరించడం మోక్షదాయకమని పెద్దలు చెప్తారు.పితరులను ఉద్దరించడానికి భాగీరధుడు గంగానదిని భూమికి తీసుకు వచ్చాడని పురాణాలు చెప్తున్నాయి.తిలోదకాలు ఇచ్చామంటే స్వస్తి వాచకం చెప్పడమని లోకోక్తి.నదీ స్నానాలలో పూష్కర స్నానం పుణ్యప్రదమని హిందువుల విశ్వాసం.తైత్తరీయ ఉపనిషత్తు బ్రహ్మ నుండి ఆకాశం, ఆకాశం నుండి వాయువు, వాయువు నుండి జలం, జలంనుండి భూమి,భూమి నుండి ఔషధులు,ఔషధుల నుండి అన్నం ,అన్నం నుండి జీవుడు పుట్టాయని వివరిస్తుంది .ఇలా జీవరాశులకు ప్రధానమైన జలం స్నానం ప్రాముఖ్యతను గుర్తుచేసేవే పుష్కరాలు.

పుష్కరం అంటే పన్నెండు సంవత్సరాలు, ఒక భారత కాలమానము. ప్రతి పన్నెండు సంవత్సరాలకు ఒకసారి భారతదేశములోని 12 ముఖ్యమైన నదులన్నింటికీ 'పుష్కరాలు' వస్తాయి. పుష్కర సమయములో ఆయానదులలో స్నానము చేస్తే ప్రత్యేక పుణ్యఫలం ప్రాప్తిస్తుందని హిందువులు భావిస్తారు.

స్నాన శక్తిని చెప్పే పుష్కరాల కధ - పుష్కరుడు కథ :

ఆధ్యాత్మిక పరంగా " తుందిలుడు " అనే ఒక మహర్షి శంకరుణ్ణి గురించి తపస్సు చేసాడు . ప్రత్యక్షమైన ఈశ్వరుడు ' ఏం కావాలి ' అన్నాడు . నన్ను నీలో లీనము చేసుకో స్వామీ అని అన్నాడు తుందిలుడు . శంకరుడు ఒక క్షణము ఆలోచించి సరే నంటూ తనలో లీనముచేసుకున్నాడు .

తుందిలుడు అంటే పెద్ద బొజ్జ కలవాడని అర్ధం ... అంటే పంచభూతాలూ తనలో దాగున్న ప్రపంచం అని భావము . ఆ పంచభూతాలూ ఒక్కటై శంకరుణ్ణి ప్రార్ధిస్తాయి. . . మేమంతా నీ అధీనములో ఉంటామని ... సరేనన్నాడు శంకరుడు . ఈ కారణముగా శంకరుడుకి ఐదు తలలుంటాయి. పంచభూతలింగాల పేరిట -- కంచి (పృధ్వీలింగం) ,జంబుకేశ్వరము(జల లింగం), తిరుణ్ణామలై(తేజోలింగం), శ్రీకాళహస్తి (వాయులింగం), చిదంబరం (ఆకాశ లింగం) అనే ప్రదేశాలున్నాయి. ఈ పంచభూతాలూ అన్నిటినీ అందరికీ ఈయగలిగిన శక్తి ఉన్నవని గ్రహించి ఈ పంచభూతాల సమిష్ఠి రూపానికి " పుష్కరుడు " (పుష్కలముగా అన్ని తనలోకలిగిన కారణముగా ఈయగలిగిన వాడు ) అని పేరు పెట్టారు. సృష్టిచేయాల్సిన అవసరము వచ్చిన బ్రహ్మ ... సృష్ఠి చేయడముకోసము పంచభూతాల అవసరము ఉందని గుర్తించి పంచభూతాల సమిస్టి రూపమైన పుష్కరుణ్ణి తనకీయమని సంకరుడు ని ప్రార్ధిస్తాడు .

బ్రహ్మ కున్న అవసరాన్ని గుర్తించిన శంకరుడు పుష్కరుణ్ణి బ్రహ్మకిచ్చేసాడు . ఇప్పుడు పంచభూతాలు సంకరుని అధీనము నుండి బ్రహ్మ అధీనానికి వచ్చేసాయి . మరికొంత కాలానికి బుద్ధికి అధిష్టాత అయిన బృహస్పతి ఈ పుష్కరుణ్ణి తనకీయమని బ్రహ్మని ప్రార్ధిస్తాడు . . . అంటే తన బుద్ధిశక్తిని ఆ బ్రహ్మ చేత సృష్టింపబడే అన్నిటికీ అందించాలనే భావము తో సరేనని బ్రహ్మ ఆ పుషరుణ్ణి బృహస్పతికి ఇచ్చేసాడు . ఆ పంచభూతాల సమిస్టిశక్తి అయిన పుష్కరుణ్ణి ఈ బృహస్పతి లోకములోని జనూలందరికీ వినియోగించదలిచి సంవత్సరానికి ఓ 12 రోజులు పాటు ఒక్కోనదిలో ఈ పుష్కరుణ్ణుని ఉండవలదింగా ఆజ్ఞ చేస్తాడు . ఆ 12 రోజులు ఎందరు ఆ నదిలో స్నానము చేస్తే ఆ అందరికీ పంచభూత శక్తి చేరుతుందని దీని భావము. అలా జరుగుతుందనే బృహస్పతి ఉద్దేశము .

ఏ నది ఏవైపుగా ప్రవహిస్తూ ఈ శక్తిని ఏ కాలములో పొందుతుందో ఆ రహస్యాన్ని కూడా మనకి వివరిస్తూ పుణ్యము కట్టుకున్నారు బృహస్పతి .

బృహస్పతి ఆయా రాశులలో ప్రవేశించినప్పుడు ఆయానదికి పుస్కరాలు వస్తాయి. బృహస్పతి ఆ రాశిలో ఉన్నంతకాలము ఆ నది పుష్కరములో ఉన్నట్టే. పుష్కరకాలము సాధారణముగా ఒక సంవత్సరము పాటు ఉంటుంది. పుష్కరకాలములోని మొదటి పన్నెండు రోజులను ఆది పుష్కరము అని, చివరి పన్నెండు రోజులను అంత్య పుష్కరము అని వ్యవహరిస్తారు. ఈ మొదటి మరియు చివరి పన్నెండు రోజులు మరింత ప్రత్యేకమైనవి.

Pushkaram is a festival in India which occurs in any particular year with respect to one of twelve important rivers; the river for each year's festival is based on which zodiacal sign Jupiter is in at that time.

Godavari pushkaram is a festival of River Godavari which occurs once in 12 years.The pushkaram festival last held in the year 2003.
The next festival,Godavari Pushkaram is in 2015. This year Pushkarams is Called Maha kumbhamela. maha kumbhamela occurs once in 144 years.The first 12 days of Godavari pushkaram is called Aadhi pushkaram and the last 12 days of Godavari pushkaram is called Anthya pushkaram.

These 24 days are very pious to devotees,as pushkaradu travels during these days.
During Godavari pushkaram pilgrims from all over the country will have a holy dip with the belief that they would be relieved from all sins,
and perform rituals to departed souls.It is believed that during pushkaram all deities and rishies take holy dip,
a holy dip in Godavari which will enhance one's spritual,mental and physical abilities.

Pushkaram is a festival of rivers pertains to 12 important rivers in India which occurs once in 12 years for each river.
The river for each year festival is based on the presence of Jupiter on which Zodiac sign by that time.
The pushkaram lasts for a period as long as the Jupiter remains in that particular Zodiac sign
It is believed that Pushkarudu, also known as pushkar God who is powerful to make any river holy will travel with Jupiter,
as Jupiter travels from one Zodiac sign to another Zodiac sign.
The first 12 days of Godavari pushkaram is called Aadhi pushkaram and the last 12 days of Godavari pushkaram is called Anthya pushkaram.
These 24 days are very pious to devotees,as pushkaradu travels during these days.

Godavari originates at Triumbakam, Nasik district of Maharastra
State and flows through southern state of Andhra Pradesh and reaches the Bay of Bengal.

Government make arrangements for piligrims during pushkarams.In the year 2003 above two crores pilgrims have attended the festival in Rajahmundry.
Since INDIA has the people of different languages with different cultures and traditions,
Pushkaram make all the people gather at one place,shows the unity in diversity.
Godavari is also having other name called Gowthami.
There is also a Railway Station Named "Godavari Railway Station " in Rajahmundry, which is existing in the proximity of River Godavari. During pushkaram's, south central railway will make special arrangements at Godavari railway station so as to deal with heavy rush of pilgrims.

The Pushkaram for each river come once every twelve years and lasts so long as the Jupiter remains in the corresponding Zodiac sign (generally, for one year). The first twelve days of Pushkaram are known as Adi Pushkaram, and the last twelve days are called Anthya Pushkaram.
