PRAN

Preservation and Proliferation of Rural Resources and Nature (PRAN) is registered as a public charitable trust (not-for-profit) under the Trust Act in Gaya (Bihar) vide Registration No 23544/12. Its trustees, at present, comprises of 5 individuals from different spheres of public life, including voluntary organizations, development administration, etc.

The Governing Board of PRAN consists of two individuals the settler and one among the trustees.
PRAN envisages a vibrant society with peace and harmony where every citizen is empowered and lives a dignified life.
“Catalyzing inclusive and sustainable development in India by enhancing food securities of the rural communities” is the mission of PRAN.
Preservation and Proliferation of Rural Resources and Nature (PRAN) is formed to enhance people’s capabilities for self development by working towards improved Livelihood systems of rural community of India. Present engagement of PRAN are-
- Strengthen and Improve Rural Livelihoods System: For improving rural livelihood, PRAN will work on improved agriculture the basic pillars of livelihood for the people of Bihar. Capacity building through training and handholding supports are major component of our work as PRAN believes that change will be sustainable only when changes happen at the ‘ level’ of individuals. Improved agriculture through innovative and sustainable approach in an integrated way is important to ensure rural livelihood. To achieve this PRAN works for improvement of soil health, crops productivity,water management and conservation of natural resources. Its livelihoods activities involve providing technical knowhow and facilitating linkages with relevant institutions.
Our Works:-
Implementing various livelihood enhancing agricultural projects for poor and marginal communities .
Providing training to grassroot organisation/Extension workers on innovative and sustanible agriculture.
Capacity building:-

TRAINING OF FARMER/GRASSROOT WORKERS
Motivate to farmers:- The farmers undergo training related to self bring soul and aim of lifr along with panch S (satya, samaya, seva, sanskar and samanta) panch J( jal, jungal, jameen, janwar and jan).
Technical training:-
1 - Principles of SRI:-
2 - Package of practices of different crops.
3 - Practical skills in field.
Stakeholders:-
1 - Distric level workshop.
2 - State level workshop.
2.0 Area of Operation
India is the operational area of PRAN. At present PRAN is working directly in Gaya, Munger and Nalanda districts of Bihar and indirectly in other parts of Bihar and elsewhere.
PRAN’s main target communities are SC and OBC families living in rural areas. At present PRAN is working with the SC and OBC communities in Gaya and Nalanda .Most of our target communities live below the poverty line. Gender is a major focus area of our work and is designed in our interventions which are situated in the communities through women collectives formed by BRLPS,WDC and other grass root agencies..
