Lakshmi-Narasimhamoorthy templ was destroyed during Tipu Sultan's rampage over Kerala. This temple was then renovated by the local people 35 years ago and was initially regarded as a Thevar-kshetram.
In 2012, it was found in the 'ashta-mangalya-prashnam' that the real deities of this temple are Vishnu in the Narasimha-avataram along with Lakshmi. Ever since the temple has been known as Lakshmi-Narasimhamoorthy temple. Here both these deities along with Sri-Ganapathi and Nagas are worshiped fervently by locales.
It's believed that those who offer their prayers with utmost devotion the gods will bless them with health, wealth, family well-being, and their wishes.
