Parkala High School

Parkala High School was founded by Parkala Education Society and sponsored by Academy of General Education Manipal under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Padmashree Dr. T.M.A. Pai the Architect of Modern Manipal on 12-06-1964 in Herga Panchayath Building. The present School premises was donated and foundation stone building Laid by Sri Sri Sri Lakshmi Manojhna Tirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt Udupi . Very next year in 1965, Dr. T.M.A. Pai inaugurated the building ready for classes.

In 1981 Sri Sri Sri Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt Inaugurated the 2nd wing , The Dr. T.M.A .Pai Memorial ( old stage) Open Air Stage and Honorable Ex. Central Minister Sri T.A. Pai Presided over the function. For the conveniences of the Badagabettu & Parkala Students Another one wing was started at Parkala- Badagabettu road near to Herga society in own site which was granted from government during 1987.

The School has a well built compound wall and well developed infrastructure. The school works for the all round development of personality of the pupils both through curricular and co-curricular activities. The school has earned a good name for discipline and learning and guidance heritage. Situated in natural serine beauty of 80 Badagabettu, school has been a centre of attraction for rural pupils of Parkala and adjoin villages. The school celebrated its silver jubilee in 1989.

Parkala High School is unique. It has produced many brilliant pupils who are quite successful in divorse fields. Parkala High School from its inception in 1964 is well known for its internal disciplines. Experienced and dedicated teachers are its hallmark. This High School provides well ventilated classroom with good furnitures , fans and lights, cross ventilations for good air, a well equipped laboratory, library, a computer wing to teach computer science, a very spacious Audio Visual room, staff room, office room and Headmaster Chamber separately. Enough old and latest toilets are provided by the Rotary Club with matching grant , a very sprawling playground and at the back drop we have a very big open air stage. This is once again a result of Rotary Clubs big contribution, and Vorvady Prasad & Prathap Shetty brothers contributions and big donations of Kabiyadi Joiyes family.
