N.C College, Badarpur

Nabin Chandra College, Badarpur was established in 1969. As the college had no campus of their own, the classes of Arts faculty were run in a rented building in a plot very close to the present site. The College was christened Nabinchandra College in 1971 after the late father of Basanta Kumar Das, a major donor. The College was shifted to the present site in 1974 and was brought under the deficit system of grants-in-aid rules of the Assam government the following year. Since then the college never looked back but always marched ahead crossing many a hurdle on the road to progress achieving side by side the physical development of the college building, the campus and the academic growth of the educational institution. The all-round progress of the college was assessed by the NAAC in August 2004 and was subsequently accredited with B grade. Since then leaving aside the post-accreditation complacency, the college has been striving hard to face newer and greater challenges ahead.

Objectives :-

To impart higher education to boys and girls in Arts, Commerce and Science
To promote the education of the local youth including women and youth of the backward classes
To impart quality education to the youth irrespective of caste, creed, race, sex and religion
To promote physical, mental and moral growth of the youth in order to enable them to face the complex challenges of life.
To foster feelings of liberal humanism, mental tolerance, national integration, brotherhood and fellowship among the students in particular and the society in general
