The year you are born you make an entry into the world, other years where you prove your worth, they are worth celebrating. 19th June was celebrated as Public Health Dentist Day in Peoples Dental Academy as a joint venture by Faculty, Pg students and interns of Public Health Department of Peoples Dental Academy and Peoples College Of Dental Sciences And Research Centre. It marked the beginning of a new era, portraying the investments by a Public Health Dentist.
The celebration started by plantation of a sapling which embarks the growth with time, followed by a cake cutting ceremony by the fraternity of Public Health Dentistry, PDA and PCDS along with faculty members of other departments and Intern batch of PDA to spread the happiness and sweetness in program.
An oral health cytology campaign was conducted among non teaching employees of People’s university regarding their dental health and they were taught about self identification of oral mucosal lesions and some samples for cytology were taken for evaluation of pathology related to mucosal lesions.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Ajay Bhambal, Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry, People’s College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre and Dr Vrinda Saxena, Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry, People’s Dental Academy. The heart and soul of the celebration was the launch of National Public Health Dentists group on Face Book Page which was officiated by Dr Bharathi Purohit. It was initiated to embark the importance of digital world, socialism, communication and dexterity in order to extend awareness to the masses and to reach them, in the hope of acquiring little steps towards big achievement. This occasion was heartily supported by Dr Satish Karandiker, Dean, People’s Dental Academy, Dr Shaji Thomas, Dean, People’s College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre and Dr Naveen S Yadav, Vice Dean, People’s Dental Academy.
