National Highways Authority of India- PIU Varanasi

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is an Autonomous Body of the Government of India. It is a nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The current Chairman of the NHAI is Mr. Raghav Chandra (IAS). NHAI has different Units to develop and maintain the Roads. NHAI has many units to expedite and execute the project at different places. NHAI' PIU (Project Implementation Unit) Varanasi is the one of them and Its Regional Office is in Lucknow. These units are headed by Project Directors. Below Projects are in progress from this PIU:
1). 4-Laning of Varanasi-Sultanpur section of NH-56 (Package-I) from Km 134.700 to Km. 209.230 in the state of UP under NHDP-IV on EPC mode.
2) 4-Laning of Varanasi-Sultanpur section of NH-56 (Package-II) from Km 209.230 to Km. 272.590 in the state of UP under NHDP-IV on EPC mode.
3) 4-Laning of Ghaghara Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233 from Km. 121.800 to Km. 180.420 (Package-I) from Ghaghara Bridge abutment on Basti side to Budhanpur urban section in the state of UP under NHDP-IV on EPC mode.
4) 4-Laning of Ghaghara Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233 from Km. 180.420 to Km. 240.340 (Package-II) from Budhanpur urban section to start of Gossai Bazar bypass in the state of UP under NHDP-IV on EPC mode.
5) 4-Laning of Ghaghara Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233 from Km. 240.340 to Km. 299.350 (Package-III) from start of Gossai Bazar bypass to Varanasi in the state of UP under NHDP-IV on EPC mode.
6). Rehabilitation and Upgradation of existing 2-Lane to 2-Lane with Paved Shoulders of Varanasi to Hanumana Section of NH-7 (New NH no.-28) in the State of UP.
7). 4-Lane of Varanasi bypass from Km. 0.000 (Starting point at Km. 271.300 of NH-56) to Km. 15.250 (end point at Km. 11.170 of NH-29) including 4-laning of NH-29 from Km. 10.700 to Km. 12.000 (Total Project Length=16.550) (Package-I) in the state of UP under NHDP Phase-IV on EPC mode.
8). 4-Laning of Varanasi-Gorakhpur section of NH-29 from existing Km. 12.000 (design Km. 12.010) from existing Km. 88.000 (design Km. 84.160) (Package-II) in the state of UP under NHDP Phase-IV on EPC Mode.
9). 4-Laning of Varanasi Ring Road Phase-II from Km. 0.000 to Km 15.725 (Section A-B) and from Km 30.975 to Km 57.300 (Section C-D) in District Varanasi & Chandauli in the state of Uttar Pradesh
10) Consultancy Services for Project Management including preparation of Feasibility Study/ Detailed Project Report of selected road stretches for NH connectivity to Backward area/Religious/Tourist places (BRT) scheme.
(i) From Varanasi-Sindhora-Jaunpur-Akbarpur-Ayodhya Road in the state of UP
(ii) From Mirzapur (NH-35) to Aurai (NH-19) in the state of UP.
