The foundation stone of the School was laid by Dr.Rajendra Prasad,the then first President of India.The School was initially established as the Girls wing and Junior wing of the Boys School still being run in Nainital by The Birla Education Society.From the early seventies the Schools are run by the "Uttarakhand Shiksha Bharti Society".The School is dedicated to the memory of one of the leading Freedom Fighters of Uttarakhand Shri Mohan Lal Sah.
