Ludhiana - ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ

Ludhiana (Punjabi: ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ) is a city in the Indian state of Punjab. It is the largest city in Punjab, with an estimated population of 1.4 million. It is located near the banks of the Sutlej River.

It is a major industrial and educational center of northern India, and is the crossroads of many different cultures.

Ludhiana is home to branches of various international franchises such as Hot Breads, The Yellow Chilli, Nike, KFC and McDonald's. Ludhiana is notable for its' famous markets such as the Sarabha Nagar Market, Chaura Bazaar, Mall Road, Ghumar Mandi, Model Town Market and Kochhar Market. Ansal Plaza and Westend Mall are the main attractions for Ludhianvis who like shopping.

There are also many religious and historical places in and around Ludhiana. Sikh religious sites in the district include Gurudwara Alamgir,Dukhniwaran Sahib, Nanaksar Kaleran (Jagraon), Raikot and Macchiwara.
