Missionaries from Scotland Came to India in early 1920s with a vision to serve the poor and marginalized and thus Lakhnadon Christian Hospital was started as a result of their hard work and prayer. Later on in the 70s Dr.D M MacDonald, a surgeon from Scotland developed this hospital as a surgical unit and expanded it. Today this hospital functions as a secondary health care especially in the field of Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dental Services & Opthamology.
On March 30, 1998, the hospital was registered as Lakhnadon Christian Hospital Society, under the Indian Societies Registration Act at Jabalpur. The hospital is registered with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 1976, for the receipt and use of overseas aid for ongoing hospital work.
