Khandbari is the district headquarters of Sankhuwasabha District in the Kosi Zone of north-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 26,301.
A road has already been constructed that connects khandbari directly to dharan.Khandbari is amongst the top ten prosperous town of Nepal. Its border districts are Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Taplejung,Terhathum and Dhankuta.
