Karanja is a Beautiful Village situated near Uran (Navi Mumbai) across Dharamtar creek, and is primarily a Fishing Village.

Dronagiri Aai temple is well known Tourist attraction of this Village.A complete panoramic view of Dharamtar creek is visible from this temple. Dronagiri aai fair is held here annually and is attended by many people with joy.

The Main Occupation of people of Karanja is Fishing. About 60-70% of Fishing Production of Mumbai comes from fisherman based from Karanja.
