This is the only institute unique in it's features providing education in textile technology. The area is now playing major role in the economic development of the country generating millions of job opportunities.Besides that the institutes offers Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engg., Mechanical Engg. and Mechatronics Engg.

The Institute Campus spreads over a patch of 15 acres of lands by the side of NH-42 in “CHOUDWAR”. The Institute has its own Administrative Building, Workshop sheds, Hostel building for Boys and Girls, Staff Quarters, Medical Centre, Doctor’s Residence, Play ground etc.

The Institute has a well versed Library having valuable collection of Nine thousands books i.e. Text Books, Reference Books, Technical Norms Books. Library is also subscribing 20 Nos. International and Indian Journals.

Book Bank:

Book Bank facility is also available in the Institute for students.

Reading Room Facility :

An well furnished carpet area of 900 sq.ft. with 80 seating capacity is utilized as Reading Room for the study of students, where one copy of each and every books and journals is readily available for the students and faculties. The Reading Room is opened to the users daily from 09.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m.

Conveyance Facilities

The 20 seated Mini Bus of the Institute was exclusively used for the industrial visits of the students to the nearby Industries on week days.

Hostel Facilities

The Institute provides adequate accommodation facilities to all the students as per intake strength. There are four hostels inside the campus i.e., Mahanadi,Kathjodi & RI Building for the boys and Rishikulya for the Girls. In first year Maximum 90 no. of students can reside in RI building hostel.

Medical Facilities

A Dispensary with adequate medical facility is available inside the Institute Campus to look after the health of students regularly. Besides that, Institute Doctor is staying inside the campus and available in any odd times.

History :-

Institute of Textile Technology, Choudwar came in to existence in the year 1983 offering only Diploma Course in Textile Technology. With the advent of technological development and need of qualitative technical Man-power in Textile and other Industries, the Government of Orissa have pleased to start 3 years Diploma course in ETC & Mechanical Engg. In the year 2007.In 2009 Diploma course in Mechatronics introduced first time in the same institute. All the courses are approved by AICTE,New Delhi.

A Testing Laboratory of National Standard has been set up with the assistance of Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India to provide testing facilities to local manufacturers, traders as well as to promote the research activities in the field of textiles and allied subjects.
