Hosadurga is a town in Chitradurga district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is the Taluk centre of the taluk with same name.GeographyHosadurga is located in Karnataka, India. Prior to B.G.Govindappa, Goolihatti Shekhar was the MLA from Hosadurga who was also a Sports minister during BJP term in Karnataka.Economy and IndustrializationAgriculture is the main activity of this region. Coconut trees are found in abundance and Coconut based industries (Coconut Oil extraction, Coconut Coir etc.) are established here. RAMCO CEMENT PLANT Located near to Mathodu hobali, this Plant has a capacity of 0.29 MTPA.Though the plant capacity is relatively small, it has a computer-controlled Central Control Room (CCR) to monitor the quality of raw materials and cement. In addition to the usual instruments and equipment for cement testing, the Plant is equipped with XRFMineralsMany minerals like iron ore, manganese and dolomite are found in this taluk. Ramco Cement Factory (Earlier it was Gokul Cements owned by M S Ramaiah group of industries) is situated in Mathodu Village of the Hosadurga Taluk. Now this is the only cement factory in Hosadurga Taluk. There were many cement factories in 90's but due to the lack of limestone some of them are closed.
