Hassan is a city and the district headquarters of Hassan district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The town is situated 935 m above sea level with weather similar to Bangalore. It is named after the Hasanamba temple. Hassan is west of Bangalore, north of Mysore, and east of Mangalore by road.
