GPG college Bageshwar is named after the name of shri B.D.Pandey Who faught against and finished the begari pratha which was Prevelant here. he threw the consumed registars in to the Sangam of saryu and Gomti. for this gallent act. He was honoured as "Kumaon Kesari".
