The polytechnic is established with a main two import technical education to the students from the harihara, Davangere and/neighbouring districts. The polytechnic is situated at APMC yard campus, Harihara. The polytechnic is running under the give and take policy with APMC, Harihara.

This Polytechnic is a Government Institution situated at Harihara (place) and it was established in the year 2009. The Institution is located in a sprawling campus of 5.00 acres.

At present, the Polytechnic is wholly run by the Government of Karnataka and comes under the purview of Directorate of Technical Education.
