Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Baramulla (J&K)

Boys higher secondary school Baramulla is located in the heart of the Baramulla town.The school has an area of 11378.713 sq.meters in front of the deputy commissioners office close to the bank of the River JHELUM.The existing main building was functioning as Degree college of Baramulla town Before 1970.

The college was then shifted to KHAWAJABAGH Baramulla and B.H.S.S. was established in this building which was previously functioning in now called BOYS HIGH SCHOOL DEWANBAGH, Baramulla.The school is comprised of separate blocks for medical, non-medical, commerce, arts & secondary blocks for 9th & 10th classes.There is also a newly constructed laboratory block for conduct of practicals.The school also provides boarding facilities to the students coming from remote areas within the campus.For this purpose, a two storeyed hostel building has been serving for this purpose for more than a decade
The school has a big library with about 30000 books for academic development of the students and dedicated staff covering all streams, subjects & courses.
The school has a separate NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME department which prepares the students to work for the betterment of the society by participating in various social service programmes at local level & as well as in other remote areas of the state. This unit, which is funded by the UNIVERSITY OF KASHMIR, makes the students conscious of their rights and duties towards the society.It's main objective is preservation of the environment by providing voluntary services, awareness programmes with regerd to the evil effects of smoking, drug addiction, menace of polythene & eradication of other social evils from the society.The school has a separate wing for NATIONAL CADIT CORPS which sends students for attending different NCC camps where they undergo NCC training.
