Gajedi Taal is one of the renowned lakes in Nepal. It lies just 3km south of Mahendra Highway. The name Gajedi has been derived from the VDC, in which it is located, viz Gajedi. The lake spreads over 4.5km2 and is surrounded by forest. The lake is close to Lumbini where Gautama Buddha was born.LocationGajedi Taal is in the countryside; the village name is Danapur which is a part of Gajedi VDC. To reach Danapur village, one takes a vehicle from Butwal, the headquarters of Rupandehi district. From there it is approximately 21 kilometers west. After you cross 19 kilometers, turn south at Bansgadhi. Although the roads there are not so good, there are green forests and natural beauty.AttractionsBoatingBoating on this lake is becoming popular day by day. Many tourists come here for boating on fresh water and fully enjoy it. There are some people trained in boating who will help you if needed.
