The Chief Minister of Gujarat, a state in western India, is the head of the Government of Gujarat. The governor, who is the nominal head of the state, appoints the chief minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the state's legislative assembly. Following the confidence of the assembly, the chief minister's term is for five years and is subject to no term limits.
