Cluny Women's College

Cluny Women's College, an emerging undergraduate degree college and institute, is situated 14.5 Kms off the National Highway 31A (NH 31A) and 1.5Kms before the main town of Kalimpong. Situated amidst an idyllic and delightful natural tapestry, the college has an international ambience built around it with students from different countries applying for different courses in the college. The college was established on the 21st day of July,1998.

The college is a Government aided institution permanently affiliated to the University of North Bengal and included under section 2(F) and 12(B) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Cluny Women's College, since inception, is successfully managed by the Governing Body (West Bengal Act XXVII of 1961).

In sync with the national thrust and aspirations of the nation vis a vis women’s empowerment through education, Cluny Women’s College strives to impart value based education to enlighten and develop women, encouraging them to exercise responsible freedom. “ An educated woman makes an educated family”. Thus with this view, the motto “tamaso ma jyotirgamaya”, where there is darkness spread the light, has been envisaged.
