Chanakya National Law University

Chanakya National Law University is an autonomous law school in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Bihar as a public university dedicated to the field of legal education. The Chief Justice of Patna High Court is the ex officio chancellor of the university. Presently, the position is held by chief justice Hon`ble Justice L. Narasimha Reddy. The vice-chancellor is Prof. Dr. A. Lakshminath.HistoryThe university came into being on 15 August 2006 under the guidance of its vice-chancellor/pro-chancellor, Prof. Dr. A. The library subscribes more than 50 Indian and foreign journals. The library subscribes to around 50 Indian and foreign journals, and subscribes to the online database of Westlaw, Manupatra, Jstor and Heinonline.The mission of the library is to provide information services and access to bibliographic and full text digital and printed resources to support the scholarly and information need of the university community. The library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of CD-ROMs, on-line databases, books, e-journals, reports, thesis etc.Student activitiesThe Student Bar CouncilThe Student Bar Council is the regulatory body that coordinates all student activities. It works on the motto of "Of the students, for the students and by the students". The SBC has created activity-based committees which regulate student activities.
