Centre for youth research and development is a non-political non-government not for profit and public charitable trust was founded by the young energetic and intellectual youths consisting of members belonging to different political, social, education, and family background of Jammu & Kashmir state. With an aim and vision to engage in youth empowerment and youth development for the sustainable development of society through various creative measures, to empowered and create a valuable youth with a vision for the society.
There is a need of strong values within society like commitment, leadership and courage, compassion. The organisation believes that positive individual values based may not change the world but collectively they do make a difference.

Why CYRD?
Youth being the most energetic and dynamic segment of the society it is imperative to optimally tap their constructive and creative energies ,it is essential to develop their personality and leadership quality and involve them into society building activities .the task of overcoming to the problem of less education avenues and unemployment could only be resolved to a considerable extent by facilitating /providing education and job opportunities to the youth by promoting the self-employment ventures and thus ameliorating that lot of job seekers lot has been done for the development of youths but much more has to be required to be done to meet the aspirations of growing population especially the youths with lifelong and focused approach.
An apex approach was indeed crucial to sensitize, educate, develop and empower the youth and youth led community development to embrace the challenges of 21st century and this vision leads to emergence of an organisation for excellence.
Centre For Youth research and Development is the brain child of dynamic leaders and research scholars, law students of Delhi University ,JNU in an effort to provide long term sustainable solutions to various socio – economic problems such as education ,youth empowerment .employment ,skills .leadership and capacity building and community development we try our best to better understand young people’s aspirations ,motivations and engage them in public life and nation building and we believe that empowering youth leads to sustainable community development and peace we have been developing multipronged strategies /programmes to address our mandate that will provide youths with equal opportunities to maximize their potential and help them to become educationally awesome ,technologically sound ,innovative skilled ,politically empowered ,socially responsible ethically aware and economically independent citizens.

CYRD works to engage and empower young people to enhance their contribution to development and social transformation in an effort to better understand young people’s aspirations ,motivations and engage them in public life nation building , A group of likeminded research scholars,lawyers journalists and young leaders got together and formed the centre for youth research and development to empower the youth of state and learned about their hopes expectations and values our work is grounded within a rights based approach guided by realities facing young people in the state of Jammu &Kashmir and anchored in the belief that young people are
