Cantonment Public School & College, Mymensingh.

Introduction

Under the commencement of the Cantonment Public Schools & Colleges central co-ordination committee, this institute began its March in the Momenshahi Cantonment on 4th March 1993 to spread out contemporary and standard education in this region. Though it was up to class VI at its initial period, gradually it raised it’s classes up to X by 1996. Then the college section was included in 1999. At present, this institute runs with classes from Nursery to XII.

i) A section was extended for the arts students in session 2006-2007 in college.

ii) A new subject in the session 2006-07 Logic was also added to it’s syllabus for the same group.

iii) An English Medium Section under National Curriculum was introduced from class VI in the school section in 2007.

iv) In 2007, a new section for each of the both classes Nursery and VI was adjoined.v) In 2008, a new class VII was introduced in English Version part.

vi) In 2009, another class VIII was added to this section in English.

vii) A new shift “Day shift” for the Nursery class is in function from 2009.

viii) THE LANDMARK WHICH THIS INSTITUTE MADE IN 2008 IS THAT IT WON THE AWARD OF THE BEST INTITUTE-08 IN DHAKA EDUCATION BOARD.

ix) In S.S.C Exam-2009, 52 students got A+ out of 83 students and this time 100% students passed.

x) With due respect, it is to mention that for the devotion and continuous efforts of the former administrators, the institute has developed to this position. Let us hope that under your leadership, this governing body will boost it to another step forward.

Location & Land

Cantonment Public School & College, Momenshahi is situated at the west part of this cantonment in shankipara of this busy Mymenshing town. In 1993 it was settled on 5.66 acres of land. The area of the land was not enough. So after long attempt, a prayer was submitted to the proper authority to lease the adjacent 5.53 acres of land. With the help of various officers and persons, that land has been recently leased by 14 lakh Taka. With that land, the campus has been extended to total. 11.19 acres. By this time, the newly acquired land has been taken in possession and a five year development plan has been taken in this land. The construction of the boundary is going to be completed at the cost of approximately 48 lack and 21 thousand taka. The construction of the wall is running under a development committee and a maintenance committee. In spite of rough weather, the 90% of the construction has already been done. Efforts are made to complete the rest of the work.
