Bhilai -The Steel City

Bhilai is not just a city but an essence of great stories, people and feelings. It is a city in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh, in eastern central India. The city is located 32 kilometres (20 mi) west of the state's capital, Raipur, on the main Howrah–Mumbai rail line, and National Highway 6. Also it is a home to one of the largest steel plants in India, Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL) and has also been awarded the Prime Minister’s Trophy for being the best-integrated steel plant for the past five years. It was also the first plant in India that was vouched for the ISO 9002 quality certification.
Bhilai is a famous and well-known city in Chhattisgarh. Bhilai has many factories, mines and one of the biggest steel plants in the country. It has rich cultural heritage. However till the year 1955 Bhilai used to be an isolated village. With the steel factory and growth of industrialization here make Bhilai a prominent place in the map of India. The religious harmony between the people here is something which everyone must follow. People from different backgrounds and tribes live here in a harmonious way.
The climate is pleasant and mild in the winter. There are medium rains in the monsoon season. The summers are very hot and dry.
