Bhabua

Bhabua is a city and a municipality in Kaimur district in the state of Bihar, India. It is the headquarters of Kaimur district. It is all set to be declared as the world's first green City. Also Bhabua is the place for shopping and a major city for education to around 40 neighbouring small villages.GeographyBhabua is located at. The Buxar district of Bihar State and the Ghazipur district of U.P. State bound it on the North. On the south is the Garhwa district of Jharkhand State and on the West is the Chandauli and Mirzapur districts of the U.P. State. On the East is Rohtas district of Bihar State.About DistrictThe district has 14 police stations and covers an area of about, Geographically, the district can be divided into two parts viz. (i) Hilly area and (ii) Plain area. The district has close linkage with the history of Shahabad, which was its parent district also. The old district of Shahabad had four subdivisions of which Bhabua was one. The present district of Kaimur has been formed from the whole of this Bhabua subdivision. The District of Bhabua is divided in wards e.g. Ward 6 for Gavai ward 12 near Patel chowk etc., all wards have a ward commissioner who looks after the welfare and civic affairs of the ward and the head of all the ward commissioner's is elected amongst themselves who is called the chairman. Currently the ward chairman for Bhabua is vijay bahadur Singh popularly known as mlai Singh. The current District Magistrate of Bhabua is Shri Prabhakar Jha, IAS, the current SP of Bhabua is Smt Harpreet Kaur(IPS). The current MLA of Bhabua is Anand Bhushan Pandey from BJP Bhabua is predominantly a Kurmi city where majority of the population belongs to the Kurmi (Kunbi) Caste. The nearest big town is Varanasi which is 70 km from here and we have buses every half an hour running to and fro.
