ANOWARA UPAZILA(Chittagong district):With an area of 173.53 sq km,is bounded by Potiya upazila on the north,Banshkhali upazila on the south,Chandanaish upazila on the east and bandar chittagong port thana on the west.Main revers are karnafuly and sangu main forests dheang pahar, battali and baramat. ANOWARA(Town):Consists of one mouza with an area of 3.34 sq km.The town has a population of 4258 male 53.59% and female 46.41% population density per sq km 1274.Literacy rate among the town people is 64.4%. ADMINISTRATION:Anowara thana was established in 1876 and was turned into an upazila in 1983 .The upazila consists of 11 union porishads 78 mouzas and 78 villages.
