Dr. Riyaj Umar Mujawar is an eminent Cardiologist practising in Western Maharashtra. He completed his MBBS (2005) from

Government Medical College, Miraj, Maharashtra, I during which he was awarded State level winner of Public Health Quiz at AFMC Pune

(2003). He completed his DNB Medicine under the able guidance of Dr. E.J.David who is a renowned pulmonologist and critical care specialist

from Wanless Hospital ,which is tertiary care centre with all state of art facilities for critical care.He then joined the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of

Higher Medical Sciences, Whitefield, Bangalore, which is a high volume Interventional Cardiology Centre, for his DNB Cardiology training during

which he had extensive training in Non Invasive and Interventional Cardiology under the able guidance of Dr. P.K. Dash who is a renowned

Cardiologist and teacher par excellence.He was winner of Cardiology quiz at Madras Medical Mission ,Chennai (2013).European Society of

Cardiology has awarded him the Young Talent Cardiology award in 2014.He passed his Fellowship in interventional Cardiology(2015) from the

same institute.He was also awarded MNAMS ( Cardiology ) in 2014.During his training ,he also had clinical observership completed at Cleveland

Clinic ,Ohio,USA.

He is at present appointed as the Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Wanless Hospital,Miraj.He is also a consultant cardiologist at

Aryan Heart Care,Miraj which is well equiped cardiac clinic with high end ECHO,TMT and ECG facilities. Earlier Dr. Riyaj worked at the Sri

Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Bangalore for nearly 4.5 years during which he independently performed more than 500 balloon

mitral commissurotomies, 100 Pacemaker Implantations, 1000 Coronary Angioplasties, 2000 Diagnostic Angiograms and cath studies and several

Peripheral Angioplasties and Paediatric Cardiac Interventions. During the same tenure he attended to more than 1000 Cardiac emergencies and

critical cases, performed more than 3000 Transesophageal echocardiograms and provided more than 3000 Cardiac consultations.He is member of

Cardiological society of India , Americal College of Cardiology & American Heart Association.

After joining the Wanless Hospital ,he has performed Primary Coronary Angioplasty for STEMI , Left Main Angipoplasty ,

ASD, PDA device closure, Balloon Valvotomy (BMV ,PVBD) pacemaker ,,ICD implantations, peripheral angioplasty, carotid angioplasty,

superior mesentric angioplasty , IVC filter.

He is an expert in Primary Angioplasty for Acute Myocardial Infarction and Elective Coronary Angioplasty including complex

procedures. He strongly believes in and practices evidence based Medicine. He has conducted various CME for physicians,pediatricians and general

practicians .His aim is to sensitize the medical practitioners with evidence based medicine.He has given health talks related to cardiac care to the

school employees ,students and public in general. He has presented various research publications in national & international journals of cardiology.
