INFORMATION :
■In 1861 the school was established by the then British Government for teaching English.
■On March 01, 1945 the school came under the Salary Deficit Scheme (fully aided)
■On December 22 of the sane year it was permanently recognized and aided by the Registrar of Calcutta University
■It was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School with Arts, Science and Commerce streams on May 07, 1959 by the D.P.I. West Bengal
■NCC was introduced in the school in 1967
■The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education brought it under its fold by recognizing it for imparting the Higher Secondary courses (+2) in all the general stream courses on august 14, 1984
■The Vigyan Bhavan was built in 2003 and thus Computer Education started which is one of the greatest achievements of the school. The Government of West Bengal provided the school with twelve computers.
■In the year 2003, Arijit Khan stood third in the Madhyamik Pariksha securing 771 marks out of a grand total of 900 marks. He also stood third in his Higher Secondary and Joint Entrance examinations respectively in the year 2005
■Students from the school have become District Champion in the State Level Youth Parliament Competition in the year 1995.
■The vocational courses were introduced in 2006.
■In the year 2007 Sri Samarendranath Chakraborty, the ex-headmaster of the school was chosen the National Teacher and awarded by the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil
■In 2007 Kuntal Konar stood fifth, Sourav Mondal stood eleventh and Koustav Samanta stood twelfth in the Madhyamik Pariksha
■In 2007 Arghya Mukherjee stood fourth in the Higher Secondary examination
