A brief History of St. Antony’s Church Allipade.
Allipade was part of Agrahar church. People of Allipade used to walk 10-12 miles to Agrahar church for their spiritual needs. On Sundays they used to get up at 4am, walked through forest, came across wild animals roaring of the lion, howling of the fox, hooting of the owl were the noises encermtered by the people. In spite of this tedious journey to the church, the people used to pray Rosary to make their journey faster and shortened to way, they used to pack the food for their journey.
They made use of the sacrament of reconciliation before the mass, participetated in the Holy Eucharist to nourish their soul. After the mass they used to savors the food without curry sometimes. The sacristan of Dgahar parish we lovingly called him misa mama used to feel pity and gave us some curry. After cating we used to start our journey back to home while returning it used to get dark, but it bright med our faith, our faith was ever guiding principle of our lines.
In the year 1927, the then Agrahar Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Gerenaled Pinto build a school in Allipade. In the same building we used to have Eucharistic waleration. Slowly cemetery was made to bury the dead. It became a substation of Agrahar Parish.
On 5 september 1938, the bishop of Mangalore most Rev. Victor fernandes build a small church. We had Rev.Fr.R.D.Rego as our Parish.
